Buthow can you know thatstudentshavelearned withoutspending hours correcting tests and papers? . . . check studentsunderstanding whileyou are teaching (notat10o'clock atnightwhen you're correcting papers) so you don'tmoveon with unlearned material thatcan accumulatelikea snowballand eventuallyengulfthestudentinconfusion and despair.
