Kicker by R. Grey Hoover: a book about forgotten heroes

Kickers by R. Grey Hoover

Notes from Jacquie: What an interesting story!

I learned so much about heroes not mentioned in history books. Thank you R. Grey Hoover for taking the time to research and memorialize this important part of our history.

This is the story of a family caught in the throes of war, a family with a 165 year tradition of service to their country. Sam is torn between his love for his family and his sense of duty to his country. His decision takes him from the quiet hills of Pennsylvania to the torrid jungles of Burma. While his family struggles with shortages and rationing, he fights to survive the terrors of war. This story is based on actual experiences and official records from World War II.

New Dyslexic Law in California!

Dyslexia, a reading disability, impacts approximately 20% of the overall population. In California alone, this means over 1 million students in public schools are dyslexic. Dyslexia is the single largest learning disability. Without proper identification and appropriate reading remediation, most dyslexic children will never read at grade level. Sadly, 73% of 4th grade students in California read below grade level. Read more by clicking the link New Law in California
